Description:
The snd-pcsp module sometimes takes the hand on the real soundcard's module, and it needs to be blacklisted to hear sound.
Please, remove it from the kernel's config ! No one uses it, and a lot of people have to blacklist it...
Its sound is horrible, I think no one needs it !

Steps to reproduce:
On a lot of computers, install alsa-lib, alsa-utils, and launch alsamixer : the soundcard will be "pcsp".
And you haven't got sound, or something horrible.
With MODULES=(!snd-pcsp) in rc.conf, or a little rmmod snd-pcsp, we got sound... ( the real module left pcsp do his job !)

I would really like this also. Maybe blacklist it in the default rc.conf and put a comment near the line explaining the situation or as the op suggested and completely remove it from the kernel.

thomas an opinion on this, i would say load imho no interaction is here needed, users should know how to order sound modules or blacklist the ones they don't need.

I thought it was a cool feature when I first enabled it. However, considering it doesn't exactly work right and is only a source of annoyance we could as well disable it.

We could easily provide the module as a package in AUR. If you agree, I will upload my PKGBUILD.
Then whoever wants it, can build it from source without rebuilding the whole kernel.
